FEMA Seeks Applicants for NAC

National Advisory Council advises FEMA on emergency management

The Federal Emergency Management Agency is asking those who are interested in joining the agency’s National Advisory Council to apply for appointment.

The NAC was established to ensure coordination of federal preparedness, protection, response, recovery and mitigation for natural disasters, acts of terrorism and other manmade disasters.

Broadcasters would want to know that the NAC advises FEMA on emergency management.

The NAC has up to 35 members who are appointed by FEMA for a three-year term. Some of the disciplines the NAC is looking for applicants from are: emergency management or response, communications, disabilities or infrastructure protection.

Those interested are invited to apply. Applications are due March 14.
