With the opening of the spring NAB show, the association’s president and CEO has delivered a vote of confidence in another annual event, the fall Radio Show.
“We are committed to the concept of an annual Radio Show,” he told the NAB Daily News in its opening edition here in Las Vegas. “We’re in Philadelphia Oct. 1-3, and the vibes we are getting on that show are very positive. This will be the first time we’ve been in the Northeast corridor for many years.”
The NAB board this winter directed its staff to evaluate the fall show and consider other approaches after attendance in recent years had fallen off. But Fritts seemed confident that the event would survive in some form.
“While the makeup of The NAB Radio Show may change to focus more on sessions and networking opportunities, we’re committed to an annual radio show. We have had some discussions with RAB and others on partnership opportunities, and we’re listening closely to membership. We’re pleased to hear that there is still a big demand for an annual radio show.”
