German DRM Platform Elects New Chair

Joachim Lehnert replaces Detlef Pagel, who is now vice chair

The German DRM Forum met November 5–6 to elect new leadership and to discuss global developments in the DRM community.

Chair of the German DRM Platform Detlef Pagel stepped down after seven years in his position and will now serve as the newly elected vice chair of the DRM German Platform and as an adviser to RFmondial.

The new chair is Joachim Lehnert, who has headed Landeszentrale für Medien und Kommunikation’s Technical Department since 1998. He is involved in the development of the digitization of radio and television as DVB-T, T-DAB and DRM and is responsible for the technical studio facilities and distribution of the Community TV Stations in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Additionally, says DRM, he has worked with the University of Applied Science and the Technical University of Kaiserslautern on technical studies, software developments, laboratory measurements, coverage planning, recommendations of network planning aspects and field trials with DRM+ in VHF-Bands I, II and III.

This biannual meeting was hosted by the Federal State Media Authority of Rhineland-Palatinate, the “Landeszentrale für Medien und Kommunikation.”
