Glensound Intros Call Classic

Standalone four-line phone system can mix POTS and ISDN lines

New from Glensound is the Call Classic, a four-line phone-in system with options for a POTS digital hybrid or G.711/G.722 ISDN codec on each of the four caller lines. A mix of POTS and ISDN lines within the same system can be supported.

The Glensound digital POTS hybrid provides up to –76 dB of separation on each caller line.

The system I/O are housed in a rackmountable subrack, the Call Classic Base Station, that connects to the desktop Call Classic Controller via CAT5. The Controller includes a phone handset, dialing keypad and routing buttons. Each Base Station can connect up to two Controllers.

The Call Classic will make its debut at Broadcast Video Expo 2011 in February in London; however, the first orders for the units have already been placed. Irish public-service broadcaster RTÉ has ordered eight systems.
