Gow Communications won an auction for KFNC(FM), a sports talk station in the Houston area. Gow already has KGOW(AM) in Houston, the broadcast end of Gow’s Yahoo Sports Radio operation.
KFNC is an ESPN affiliate and Gow has indicated that it will maintain that relationship.
According to a release Gow Communications paid $5.05 million for the station. It had been part of a “prepackaged” bankruptcy involving three other stations that were the side effects of the Cumulus-Citadel merger.
The seller was AR Broadcast, which had taken over the four stations in bankruptcy.
