National digital radio services from the BBC are now available for the island of Guernsey. After a week of testing of the DAB service, it was officially declared live on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m. GMT.
The transmitter is installed in Les Touillets. Local radio services are not available on DAB, but FM and medium wave services operate as before, said the broadcaster.
The service will carry BBC national services, including Radio 1 to 5 Live, 1Xtra, 4 Extra, 5 Live Sports, 6 Music, Asian Network and World Service.
