Broadcast revenue was up 5% in the recent quarter at Harris Corp.
The company brought in $147 million in the three-month period and said operating income was up 18 percent. Harris said its broadcast business is benefiting from recent cost cutting.
Revenue in transmission systems fell due to a drop-off in international transmitter sales and the company’s decision to exit the radio equipment resale business. Double-digit growth continued in the Video Infrastructure & Digital Media business.
The company said its Broadcast Communications segment continued to benefit from the Harris One initiative.
For Harris Corp. overall, revenue for the quarter was up 30% to $1.2 billion, and “organic” growth was 13%. Revenue in the quarter also benefited from the June acquisition of Multimax Inc. and from Harris Stratex Networks Inc., formed in January.
