Harris Provides 12 Transmitters to the CBC

The Canadian Broadcasting Corp. awarded Harris Corp. contracts for 12 new FM transmitters for the CBC’s four national radio networks.
Harris will supply solid-state Z Series transmitters, in power levels ranging from 3.5 kW through 20 kW, for sites across Canada. The CBC bought SuperCiter FM exciters for its lower-power transmitters and Digit CD FM exciters, which have either analog or digital input modules, for the majority of its higher-power transmitters.
The order is valued at approximately $1 million Canadian. As part of the contract, Harris is providing performance testing and training.
