The Canadian Broadcasting Corp. awarded Harris Corp. contracts for 12 new FM transmitters for the CBC's four national radio networks.
Harris will supply solid-state Z Series transmitters, in power levels ranging from 3.5 kW through 20 kW, for sites across Canada. The CBC bought SuperCiter FM exciters for its lower-power transmitters and Digit CD FM exciters, which have either analog or digital input modules, for the majority of its higher-power transmitters.
The order is valued at approximately $1 million Canadian. As part of the contract, Harris is providing performance testing and training.
