When you check into a Hyatt Hotel this fall, you’ll be able to hear XM Satellite Radio for free. XM hopes the deal will expose its service to millions of hotel guests.
That company and XM have a several-year deal to offer the satcaster’s service in 50,000 guestrooms in the continental U.S. They say Hyatt is the first hotel chain to provide the service.
Hyatt will provide custom-designed tabletop radios, a channel guide and XM promotional information with the receivers.
In promoting the brand of each company, XM and Hyatt will market hardware offers for members of the frequent guest program, which Hyatt is positioning as a way for it to differentiate itself from upscale competitors.
