At IBC2007, Mayah Communications will showcase an upgraded FlashMan portable recorder and its new Sporty portable reporter codec.
In addition to field recording capabilities, the FlashMan II is able to provide a live feed. Along with Ethernet interfacing, it supports wireless communication, with an optional PCMCIA adapter enabling WLAN/Wi-Fi or UMTS/3G/3.5G and 4G transmission.
“Adding such functionalities to the professional audio recorder brings us and our customers on the next level of efficiency and allows reporters to work faster, easier and to find even more appreciation by their audience,” said Detlef Wiese, Mayah co-founder and general manager.
The Sporty, suitable for desktop or portable use, is able to send and receive audio signals over IP/Ethernet, as well as over optional WLAN/Wi-Fi or UMTS/3G/3.5G interfaces.
ISDN use is also possible, with Mayah FlashCast technology enabling automatic recognition and synchronization with other ISDN codecs. For locations without ISDN, Sporty supports conventional analog telephone lines.
For live transmissions, in addition to other standard coding algorithms, Sporty offers MPEG-4 HE-AAC v2 and AAC-ELD.
