The annual Friends of Old-Time Radio Convention took place in late October in Newark, N.J.
Every year the convention seems to get larger and feature more program reenactments and with a larger cast of actors. Reenactments include dramas, quiz shows and variety shows.
Included in the festivities were memorabilia exhibitions, an auction and hours of presentations, discussions and reminiscences from performers, technical personnel and historians/preservationists.
On the agenda was a salute to Clio Award-winning composer David Lucas for his musical compositions. Lucas is known for his AT&T “Reach Out and Touch Someone” and General Electric “We Bring Good Things to Life” jingles.
