TV’s crime buster is coming to the radio dial. ABC Radio Networks signed a deal to add John Walsh and “America’s Most Wanted.” It will distribute 60-second features Monday through Saturday, focusing on “breaking crime and news stories, missing children and updates on fugitive pursuits and captures.” Twentieth Television, Straight Shooter Productions, TotalMedia Communications Inc. and RLR Associates were involved in the agreement.
Walsh will host, as he does on the Fox TV program. An ABC official praised Walsh for his involvement in the Amber Alert system.
“Recent events have shown through the Amber Alert, which John established, radio can be the most effective and immediate vehicle for reaching out to millions of listeners nationwide to help fight and solve crime,” stated John McConnell, senior VP of programming for ABC Radio Networks.
