Kenwood Touts $300 Rebate on DVD/Navigation Receiver

Mail-in offer begins Sept. 1

Beginning Sept. 1, Kenwood USA will conduct a mail-in rebate program that focuses on the DNX9980HD in-dash DVD/navigation receiver.

The DNX9980HD is Kenwood’s first multimedia model to incorporate built-in HD Radio as a feature. The 2-Din multimedia DVD receiver with Bluetooth features a 7-inch touch screen, Pandora Internet radio link and Garmin navigation software with Navteq Traffic.

The receiver normally lists for around $2,000.

Kenwood ran a similar rebate program this summer with Garmin. Dave Hoag, vice president of sales for Kenwood’s Consumer Electronics division, says it drove dealer “sell-through.”

Kenwood is repeating what it felt was the most effective part of the promotion and focusing efforts on one model. “Considering the tough economy, this is a perfect time to drive consumer floor traffic to Kenwood Excelon dealers.”

Kenwood’s rebate program is in effect for consumer sales of the DNX9980HD that take place from Sept.1 through Oct. 31. Buyers qualify by registering their purchase as instructed in the program guidelines.
