The FCC’s Media Bureau has delayed the reply comment deadline in the LPFM/FM translator issue.
The commission has been taking public comments on its proposed tiered market-based approach to determining how many new LPFMS and FM translators can fit into the top 150 markets.
It now has granted requests by NAB and the Educational Media Foundation to extend the deadline to file reply comments in Dockets 99-25 and 07-172 from Sept. 20 to Sept. 27.
The FCC said it granted to extension “based on the number of comments filed and the extensive technical exhibits submitted with several comments,” and because several broadcasters and their attorneys were in Chicago last week at the Radio Show.
Prometheus Radio Project, Edgewater Broadcasting and Radio Assist Ministry, all interested groups, did not object to the extension, the agency stated in its decision.
The Amherst Alliance did object, saying the FCC already had granted a comment deadline extension toaccommodate filing disruptions related to Hurricane Irene.
