McDowell Hires Staff

New Commissioner Robert McDowell now has a staff with the addition of Cristina Chou Pauzé, Dana Shaffer and Angela Giancarlo as acting legal advisors.
Pauzé, acting media advisor, joined the FCC as an associate bureau chief in the Media Bureau. Her experience includes positions at Morrison & Foerster’s Washington office, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce and Teleglobe USA Inc.
Shaffer, acting wireline advisor, joined the FCC as deputy bureau chief of the Wireline Competition Bureau and served as an interim legal advisor to Commissioner Deborah Tate. Shaffer has experience in the telecom industry and was president of the Southeastern Competitive Carriers Association and president of the Tennessee Telecommunications Association.
Giancarlo, acting wireless advisor, recently served as associate chief for spectrum policy in the Public Safety and Critical Infrastructure Division of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau. Prior to joining the FCC, Giancarlo was senior associate in the Washington office of Hogan & Hartson LLP, where her focus was advising clients on commercial and private wireless regulation, auction-related transaction matters and planning on spectrum allocations.
