Bill McElveen
Veteran broadcasters Bill McElveen and Ralph Oakley have been named co-chairs of NABPAC, the political action committee of the National Association of Broadcasters.
McElveen is executive vice president for L&L Broadcasting’s Southern region, where he oversees radio stations in five markets. He previously held executive positions with Glory Communications, Citadel Broadcasting, Bloomington Broadcasting and Audubon Broadcasting. He is a former two-term chairman of the NAB Radio Board and a past president of the South Carolina Broadcasters Association.
Ralph Oakley
Oakley is president and CEO of Quincy, a family-owned business that operates 13 television stations, two daily newspapers and two radio stations. He has worked for the company in various operational and management positions since the 1970s. He currently serves on the boards of NBC Television Affiliate Association and the Television Bureau of Advertising, and is a past board member of the ABC Television Affiliate Board of Governors and past president of the Illinois Broadcasters Association.
McElveen and Oakley replace former chair Larry Patrick, who served in the position for five years. Last year, the committee raised over $1 million.
