Mets Stay With ESPN Deportes Nueva York

Agreement carries the Metropolitans through 2016 with Spanish-language station

The New York Mets, AKA Mets de Nueva York, have re-upped through the 2016 season with Clear Channel’s WEPN(AM), an ESPN Deportes affiliate.

WEPN, 1050AM, is a Spanish-language sports talk station in New York. For 2014, the station will have 150 regular season games along with select Spring Training games and select play-off games if (and that’s a big if) the Mets make the playoffs.

Mets COO Jeff Wilpon said, “We are excited that ESPN Deportes Radio will continue to be the home of Mets for our Spanish-speaking fans.”

Senior Vice President of Production and Business Divisions for ESPN Traug Keller said, “This agreement reinforces our commitment to continue presenting the most extensive lineup of live sports events that are locally relevant to the Hispanic community in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.”
