Might HD Radio catch on in Mexico?
U.S. neighbors both north and south have watched digital radio developments here with interest. Now Mexico has experienced the first HD Radio signals to air from within that country.
XHFAJ(FM), Radio Alfa, owned by Grupo Radio Centro, flipped the switch on a loaner Broadcast Electronics FMi transmitter system earlier this month, operating with an experimental license on 91.3 MHz in Mexico City.
The technology was part of a demonstration of HD Radio, Eureka-147 and satellite radio services during a broadcast convention in Mexico City.
