AM talk station WSUA in Miami said it was honored for “excellent and continuous live news coverage of Hurricane Katrina” in the Premios Ondas award ceremony, held in Barcelona, Spain.
The Spanish-language station, which calls itself Radio Caracol, is at 1260 kHz and owned by the W Radio Network, part of Grupo Latino de Radio. GLR says it is Latin America’s largest radio group.
According to the station, it won for “Best Program, Professional or Radio or Television Station” in the Latin American radio and television category and was the only U.S-based media outlet acknowledged this year.
