More Results Show PPM Closely Tracks Radio Diaries

Arbitron says its second results from the Wilmington, Del. Portable People Meter trials match earlier findings — PPM results closely track diaries for June and July.
For radio, while overall audiences are equivalent, the PPM continues to report shifts in listening patterns by daypart. Morning-drive and midday average quarter-hour ratings are lower according to the PPM, while Monday-Friday evening and overnight AQH ratings are higher as are weekend AQH ratings. The change may be related to what listeners are really exposed to as opposed to what they write down in the diary, say some broadcasters.
Thirty-eight radio stations are now encoding their signal in the Wilimington, Del. Metro.
