Musicmatch said its Jukebox software was one of the top 10 most-used online applications in February, according to Nielsen//NetRatings on customer usage of digital music software and online applications overall.
The data “confirms Musicmatch continues to be the most popular music-focused media player among PC users, with nearly nine times more users than Apple iTunes,” MusicMatch stated. It said it had enjoyed a 32 percent increase in market share over six months and is now at its market share high.
The company has distribution deals in place with Dell, EarthLink, Gateway, Philips and RCA, among others. It said Musicmatch Jukebox was distributed on 40 million hardware units last year.
