Nagra Advances with Six-Tracker

The Nagra VI includes several innovations, including entirely new signal processing and command structure.

The Nagra VI includes several innovations, including entirely new signal processing and command structure.

Key features include a prerecord buffer, two M/S decoders, audio limiters, output dithering, chase synchronizing, word clock in/out and analog and digital outputs, as well as two USB ports.

From the Nagra D and Nagra V, it inherits the time code, a hard disk and a CompactFlash memory slot.

Selection of machine parameters is via a clearly laid-out menu system on a 3.5-inch “sunlight-readable” color TFT screen. The control software allows for permanent display of important information even when browsing the menus.

The Nagra VI includes a traditional Nagra rotary main function selector plus front-panel channel switches with which to activate monitoring via one of the two 6.35 mm jack headphone connectors.

The Nagra VI offers six analog inputs on XLR connectors, four of which have microphone preamplifiers. These preamplifiers feature integrated “vortex” filters, making them suitable for operation in windy conditions.
