Internet radio listening continues to set records, reports MeasureCast. Total time spent listening in the week ending Sept. 30 was up 11 percent over the previous week’s TTSL. MeasureCast’s Internet Radio Index rose to 265 or a 165 percent increase since the company began the Index last January.
The leading Internet-only Webcaster, MEDIAmazing.com, ranked No.1, as it has for 27 consecutive weeks. The top terrestrial Webcaster for the week was London-based Virgin Radio, at No. 2.
New to the MeasureCast Top 25 list was WTOP(AM/FM), at No. 14, a Bonneville International Corp. news-talk station in Washington, D.C.
WTOP is a Local Market Internet Venture member and is the first LMiV station to break into the MeasureCast ratings. The LMiV is a consortium of small to middle-market broadcasters that provides Internet streaming, ad insertion and content services to its members.
