Internet radio listening declined nine percent during the week of April 2 to April 8, the biggest decline since the beginning of the year, according to the MeasureCast Weekly Top 25 Internet Radio Stations report. But online listening to stations measured by MeasureCast has increased 48 percent since January.
Among the 25 comparable stations in the April 8th MeasureCast Weekly Top 25, 10 stations experienced an increase in total time spent listening.
More men — 72 percent of all measured online listeners — tuned in to Internet radio than did women, who represented 28 percent of all online listeners.
And the Internet radio audience tends to be young. According to MeasureCast, 53 percent of listeners are under 35 years old; 25 percent are younger than 25 and just 8 percent are over the age of 55.
The largest single age group in this week’s report was the 25 to 34 year-olds, which represent 29 percent of online listeners.
