The New Life Media Network’s Carlinville, Ill.-based WIBI(FM) will join forces with WCIC(FM) of Pekin, Ill., and WBGL(FM) of Champaign, Ill., on Feb. 15. The frequencies, all of which are licensed to the Illinois Bible Institute, will be either broadcast using the WCIC or WBGL call sign.
WBGL will add Illinois cities Carlinville, Effingham, Granite City, Mount Vernon, Murphysboro, Vandalia and metro St. Louis to its listening area. Springfield, Ill., and Jacksonville, Ill., will be included in WCIC’s coverage as of the mid-February change. See the frequency map, right, to visualize these coverage changes.
In a press release on its website, WIBI assured listeners that much of its format and even some of its on-air talent will remain the same, even after the transition. The station also emphasized that its mission will not change, even if its call sign will.
