New Zealand’s government will auction off 47 new FM radio licences next month, according to the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, citing a report on Television New Zealand
Thirty-one will be for local commercial use and 16 for non-commercial use, ABU said.
“Broadcasting Minister David Cunliffe says the focus of the new allocation will be on making licences available for locally owned and operated radio stations. He says it’s to strengthen regional and community broadcasting,” it continued.
