NFOC Adds Broadcast Engineering and Tech Focus

Event will absorb discontinued SBE Chapter 22 Broadcast and Technology Expo

Northeast Fiber Optic Communications Conference will take on some of the business of the now discontinued SBE Chapter 22 Broadcast and Technology Expo, according to event director and Vice President of Marketing for Fiber Instrument Sales Inc. Mark Cushman.

Expanding its scope to appeal to more broadcasters, the organization says its events will include networking, industry-specific exhibits, as well as educational presentations on subjects ranging from broadcast production equipment, audio editing to mobile video, satellite and streaming.

“In addition to NFOC’s expansion into broadcast technology being a ‘natural’ due to the extensive use of fiber optics in that industry, the event offers those attendees and exhibitors who previously participated in the recently discontinued SBE Chapter 22 Broadcast and Technology Expo, a new, more expansive forum for professional networking, product exposure, and learning presentations,” said Cushman.

The conference will be held Sept. 23–24 at the Turning Stone Casino Resort in Verona, N.Y. That is the same venue that previously hosted the SBE Chapter 22 event. This is the eighth year that NFOC will be held.
