Continental Electronics named Norman Philips as its broadcast product line manager.

He was VP and director of engineering for Susquehanna Radio Corp. until that company was purchased by Cumulus Media Partners last year. He then worked as vice president of engineering for Network Minded, a Dallas-based consulting firm.

In his new position at Continental, Philips will be working with customers as well as internal engineers and marketing.

Dan Dickey of Continental said Philips had directed the engineering operations at 34 radio stations and developed and implemented the HD rollout at 28 stations.

At Susquehanna he directed the buildout of seven studio complexes in markets including Atlanta, Denver, Kansas City, Houston and Phoenix. He directed the planning and installation of five new AM and FM radio transmitter sites to increase signal strength in densely populated areas.
