Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK) in Norway recently expanded its use of the Tieline Report-IT application for iPhone by purchasing additional Report-IT Enterprise licenses for users in its global radio network.
This solution, said the company, permits NRK reporters, journalists and content contributors worldwide to use a secure, reliable portable IP audio codec and 20 kHz-quality recorder.
“NRK has more than 2,000 iPhone users and we see the Tieline Report-IT Enterprise as an affordable, high-quality and portable IP codec solution, which is simple to deploy and use,” Asle Veien, NRK’s technical manager, stated.
He said NRK uses Report-IT to broadcast live, and integrates it with the database of NRK’s nonlinear editing system to accept FTP audio files as required. “Report-IT is also popular with politicians and other content contributors who can simply download the app and be interviewed in high audio quality without having to come into the studio.”
It is possible to configure the global NRK Report-IT user accounts with the use of a Report-IT administrator account on an iPhone, or a specially-designed browser management interface, accessible from any computer with an Internet connection.
The Norwegian broadcaster also bought additional studio-based hardware codecs, which Tieline said complement the existing network infrastructure and increase NRK’s capacity to manage additional Report-IT connections.
