Bucking the trend of listening dropping in the summer as people change their habits, Pandora reported higher listening for the month of July.
The Internet audio service says listener hours this July were 1.28 billion, an increase of 14% from 1.12 billion during the same period last year.
The company says it had 71.2 million “active listeners” at the end of the month, a 30% rise from 54.9 million during the same time period last year.
Pandora claims its share of total U.S. radio listening for July was 7.08%, an increase from 6.13% at the same time last year.
Triton Digital, meanwhile, released its monthly online audio Top 20 ranking for Internet stations and networks for June. Pandora, Clear Channel Radio, Slacker, Cumulus, CBS Radio and NPR member stations are the top six. Here’s the full list.
