Forrest to Head Atlanta Market for Cumulus

Most recently she ran iHeart’s San Diego cluster

Melissa Forrest has been named vice president/market manager for Cumulus Atlanta. She succeeds Sean Shannon.

This marks a return to Atlanta for Forrest, who was market manager for Clear Channel and iHeart there in 2008–2012. Since 2012 she has been president of iHeartMedia’s San Diego cluster and also oversaw Riverside, Calif., for part of that time. 

Before 2008 she was VP/market manager for Entercom Communications in Austin and Seattle.

In the announcement, Dave Milner, president, operations at Cumulus, described Forrest as “a high-energy leader, with a track record of transforming business organizations into highly successful operations.”

The company has four stations in Atlanta including New Country 101.Five WKHX(FM) (country); 99X/WNNX(FM) (classic rock); Q99.7/WWWQ(FM) (CHR); and OG 97.9/WWWQ-H3 (urban/classic hip hop).
