The company issued an effusive press release thanking him for his work. It quoted Beck saying, “I will now have more time to devote to my own family, consulting business, legislative advocacy and the various charities civic organizations that mean so much to me.”

The company referred to a leadership transition but did not announce a successor yet. Division President John Karpinski said an announcement on that will follow.

Karpinski said he was “deeply grateful” for Beck’s contributions.

“His leadership has boosted ratings, enhanced our culture and improved revenue in both St. Louis and Indianapolis,” said Karpinski. “He has also been a fierce advocate for the entire radio industry, championing our cause in state capitols and Washington.”

Before joining iHeart four years ago Beck was senior VP at Emmis Communications, where he had oversight of several St. Louis stations.

Beck will continue running his media consulting service. He remains a trustee of the National Association of Broadcasters Political Action Committee and legislative chair of the Missouri Broadcasters Association. He has severed on the NAB radio board and is a past president of the MBA. He has received numerous radio management awards over four decades.
