John Mozes has been named chairman of the New Jersey Broadcasters Association, succeeding Chuck Benfer of Pamal Broadcasting.
Mozes is general manager of Rider University’s 107.7 The Bronc WRRC(FM), a position he has held for 15 years.
“The broadcast industry is at a crossroads,” he said in a press release. “Local New Jersey radio wants to stay true to its roots for the millions of New Jerseyans we serve, but new media and new opportunities keep evolving.”
He said he hopes the nonprofit organization can “continue to evolve with the times and always think ‘future forward’ for our member stations, so that we may continue to do what we do best, serve our communities through the power of radio.”
Mozes began in radio as creative director for Nassau Broadcasting and joined the NJBA in the 1990s. After he went to work at Rider, he was asked to join the general board of the association as a college representative. In 2021 he became treasurer of its executive board.
Paul Rotella, NJBA’s longtime president/CEO, left that position last September; the association is now led by Association Management Inc.
