Radio Farda is a Persian-language radio service that will provide Iranians with additional news, information, public affairs and entertainment. The service is now on the air and is modeled on Radio Sawa, the 24/7 Arabic service launched earlier this year.
Radio Farda will broadcast round-the-clock on medium wave (AM 1593 and AM 1539), digital audio satellite and 21 hours a day on shortwave. Streaming audio will begin in the Internet in the near future.
Radio Farda does not replace Voice of America Persian programs, which will continue on radio, television and the Internet. For more information go to www.radiofarda.com.
