Philly Station Adds NASCAR, in HD Radio

Beasley station WXTU in Philadelphia is adding motor racing – and promoting HD Radio as it does so.
The country-formatted station starts airing NASCAR races with the 46th Daytona 500 this Sunday.
Bob McKay, the station PD, said NASCAR is “perhaps the most popular of sporting events in the country.”
The station touted its HD Radio signal in the opening paragraph of its press release. It was the first station in Philadelphia to go IBOC, last fall.
