Play MPE Rolls Out Metallica Radio Special, New Album

The 98-minute program, "The World Premiere of Death Magnetic," was carried by more than 175 stations across North America.

Play MPE, from Destiny Media Technologies, was used to deliver both Metallica‘s ninth studio album, “Death Magnetic,” to radio stations in the United States and Canada, along with a companion FMQB Productions program celebrating the metal band.

“This was truly a landmark event for the radio and music industries. The overwhelming response to a live show of this magnitude should restore everyone’s belief in the power of radio and revered artists of the caliber of Metallica. We’ve yet to have a broadcast event be received quite like this one, and are proud to have played an integral role in this history making occasion,” commented Fred Deane, FMQB Productions executive producer.
