The longtime “Bob & Sheri” radio show will move to a podcast-based distribution model next year.

The program, which was nominated for a 2026 Marconi Award this year for Network/Syndicated Personality of the Year, will air its final broadcast in its home market of Charlotte, N.C., on Friday. Johnny Caudle’s Caudle Media first reported the development.

Longtime co-host Sheri Lynch announced the transition during Monday’s episode of the show’s “Oddcast” podcast. She hosts the podcast with executive producer and business partner Tony Garcia.

Lynch cited financial trouble, explaining that parent company Now! Media has experienced advertising revenue drops ranging from 20 to 40 percent since it launched to operate the show in 2017.

“We looked at each other and said, if we don’t break out and go independent, we’re done,” Lynch said during the episode.

She added that team members have been taking pay cuts since 2020 to keep the business operating.

The decision ends a local over-the-air run in Charlotte dating back to 1992, which later expanded into national syndication across stations nationwide, according to Cardle.

In Charlotte, Beasley Media Group’s WKQC(FM) will begin airing the “Maney & LauRen” show next week. That program previously aired on sister station WNKS(FM), which Beasley is selling to K-Love, as we previously reported.

Bob & Sheri will continue airing on its remaining syndicated affiliate stations through the end of the year.

Lynch and Garcia said they are looking at solutions to help listeners access the show’s podcast in their vehicles.

Original co-host Bob Lacey retired from the show in January 2025. Lynch continued anchoring the program with team members Lamar Richardson, Max Sweeten and Kary Bowser.
