Generator fuel is at a premium in Florida after Hurricane Ian, and one broadcaster, Fiorini Broadcasting, has put out a call for propane to help keep AM station WENG in Englewood on the air.
“The surrounding area is without power and is tuning into our station for local information about hurricane relief,” President Joseph Fiorini said on Sunday. The company has also lost service of two translators and can’t access those tower sites.
He said if someone has propane available, please call (941) 474-3231 ext. 101.
He added that although no employees were hurt, two of them “have pretty much lost their homes.”
