Qatar Radio (????? ???) has installed a new, 600 kW Transradio medium-wave transmitter at its facility in Al ?Arish.
The project consisted of the installation of two TRAM 300 medium-wave transmitters, one paralleling unit (PU), two DRM-DMOD2 digital exciters in active reserve configuration and a DRM-enabled medium wave antenna for the frequency of 675 kHz.
The antenna design and construction was handled by Thomson Broadcast & Multimedia in collaboration with Transradio.
As the new transmitter comes online, an older unit in Doha is slated to be retired.
