RAB Ratchets Up Further on 'Accountability'

The Radio Advertising Bureau Board of Directors issued a statement in support of accountability in radio after a two-day board meeting in Florida.
“The RAB Board of Directors recognizes the importance of full accountability and delivery of information. The Radio industry is committed to providing technical resources and ongoing discussions to meet the information needs of our client relationships.”
RAB President/CEO Gary Fries has been vocal on this topic. In January he said, “I want this industry to stand tall. … We need to look at all facets of our business operation: our sales; how we sell; what we deliver to the advertiser; do the spots run as ordered? Are they logged properly and getting billed properly? Are the advertisers getting what they want?”
Stations should be prepared, he said at the time, for “a rapid onslaught of advertisers wanting checks on accountability as far as the money they spend with you and what they get back.”
