Radio Down in July 3%, Thanks to 15% Slump in National Biz

Radio ad sales have been up-and-down this year; and that trend continued in July.
The RAB said radio’s national ad business fell 15% compared to the same month last year, while its local revenue was up 1%. Local is the bigger share of our market; but the decline in national biz was enough to pull overall radio revenue for the month down by 3%.
Year to date, U.S. radio revenue remains slightly up at 2% growth, for the first seven months.
