Radio NOVA Increases Listenership

Dublin-based station has augmented audience across the board, says JLNR Report

Radio NOVA says the latest numbers are good news for the Dublin-based station. This covers the 12-month period from July 2013 to June 2014.

Both daily and weekly listening are up (30 percent and 12 percent, respectively). Average listenership for the quarter-hour is up 19 percent, and the station’s market share is up 21 percent.

In real numbers, Radio NOVA now has 124,000 weekly listeners, 69,000 daily listeners and a daytime market share of 4.1 percent. Also, station’s listenership per average quarter hour across its schedule is now 12,400.

“We launched into a crowded market in 2010, believed to be saturated, and have grown into a major player rapidly and steadily in an extremely competitive environment,” said NOVA CEO and Program Director, Kevin Branigan.

Branigan also points to strong performances for each of NOVA’s programs and growth in key demographics that demonstrate that the station continues to grow.

Last October NOVA launched its “Morning Glory” breakfast program, hosted by Marty Miller and former Strawberry Alarm Clock. The station also revamped its afternoon with a show featuring Pat Courtenay. It has also recently launched Classic Gold Sunday with six hours of classic rock music on Sunday morning.
