Viacom enjoyed double-digit increases in revenue for its cable networks and TV segments in the recent quarter. Radio too was in positive terrain in the second quarter, but more modestly.
The latest quarterly financial figures from Viacom show radio revenues increased 2% for the quarter to $561 million. Radio operating income was flat.
Overall, Viacom reported operating income of $1.4 billion, an increase of 10% from the same quarter last year, on revenues of $6.8 billion, an increase of 7%.
The firm is predicting overall revenue growth for the year of 5 to 7%.
