Non-spot revenue continues to rise for radio stations; the RAB reports a 13% increase in January compared to the same month last year.

U.S. commercial radio stations saw an overall 2% increase in revenue compared to a year ago, with local sales up 3% and national down 3%.

Analyst Marci Ryvicker said growth in local radio advertising “looks pretty good, in our view. However, we do point out the easy prior-year comparisons.” For the year the Wachovia analyst still thinks radio revenue will increase 1%.
