HD Radios were getting a post-holiday push from RadioShack, Crutchfield and Circuit City.
That’s the word from Media Monitors, which tracks spots played around the country. It said on Monday that RadioShack led the previous week’s ad rankings on its Spot Ten chart of consumer electronics stores and that all three of the top advertisers in that category were using their radio time to sell HD Radios.
“RadioShack changed their radio creative from promoting primarily batteries in the days after Christmas to this week’s HD Radio campaign, placing more than double the 4,100 spots aired by the runner-up advertiser in this category, Crutchfield (#2), also running HD Radio ads,” Media Monitors stated.
“Crutchfield only aired about eight more spots than its nearest competitor, Circuit City (#3), which was promoting HD Radio as well, but both ran about twice as many radio spots than Audio Express (#4), which was using its radio time to promote other audio products and services.”
