Registration is open for the Connecticut Broadcasters Association 2006 Annual Convention.
The event is Wednesday Oct. 25 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford. The keynote speaker is NAB President/CEO David Rehr. Cost is $35 per person.
Engineering presentations include Ted Szypulski, senior director project development for ESPN, talking about HDTV in its Bristol digital center; Bill Harland, director of marketing of ERI, discussing implementation of IBOC program streams, space and diversity combining of separate analog and digital transmitters; and Scott Fybush, a Radio World contributor who is editor of NorthEast Radio Watch and publisher of the yearly “Tower Site Calendar.”
A panel on the future of broadcasting includes attorney John Garziglia; Adam Thierer, senior fellow and director of the Progress and Freedom Foundation’s Center for Digital Media Freedom; and Skip Pizzi of Microsoft, contributing editor for Radio World.
Also among topics of interest on the agenda is a session on homeland security, EAS and Amber Alerts.
Also scheduled is a Broadcast Opportunities Job Fair, 2–4 pm. The job fair is free.
