Rod Stewart Meets Tony Bennett: New Jones Standards Format

The company calls this a “fresh mix of classic songs performed by the great singers of yesterday and today; familiar instruments; and top hits.”

Jones Radio Networks has debuted the Jones Standards format.

The company calls this a “fresh mix of classic songs performed by the great singers of yesterday and today; familiar instruments; and top hits.”

The format promises legends such as Frank Sinatra, Harry Connick, Jr., Tony Bennett, Rod Stewart, Neil Diamond and Ella Fitzgerald.

“Our research has clearly indicated that we cannot look at Jones Standards as some sort of modified soft AC,” said Phil Barry, JRN Group VP/GM. “Personalities are extremely important. ‘That was…, this is…,’ won’t cut it. We’re taking the approach that we’re playing ‘The Greatest Songs Ever Made’ — our presenters will be very knowledgeable and will make our listeners comfortable, while not spending too much time reminiscing.”
