The Radio-Television News Directors Association cancelled its convention, due to begin Wednesday. Some 4,000 people had been expected to attend.
The RTNDA issued a resolution in the wake of “the national emergency,” saying its members felt a deep obligation to serve the public in times of crisis, and said the air system shutdown and other considerations made it impossible for the show to proceed.
And postponed: Wednesday’s planned launch ceremonies at the new headquarters of XM Satellite Radio in Washington.
