Rycote Ships New Windshield(2)

The Windshield 10 Kit uses a specially configured version of the Rycote Small Modular Suspension, has a body length of 120 millimeters and weighs 750 grams.

A new solution for compact microphones is now available from windshield and suspension system manufacturer Rycote.

The Windshield 10 Kit, designed to fit Sennheiser MKH8000 series mics, uses a specially configured version of the Rycote Small Modular Suspension, has a body length of 120 millimeters and weighs 750 grams.

According to Vivienne Dyer, managing director of Rycote, the MKH8000 mics have proved very popular with location recording engineers since their launch in autumn 2007.

“Not surprisingly,” said Dyer, “we soon began to receive a lot of feedback asking if we would consider making a compact windshield system that would fit these mics, so that customers did not have to go to the extent of purchasing one of our larger modular systems.”

In addition to the specially configured suspension, the Windshield 10 Kit comprises a Windshield 10 zeppelin and Windjammer 10 furry cover, microphone clips, a sturdy but lightweight Rycote pistol grip handle, a boom pole adaptor and a spares bag.
