SBE Webinar to Focus on FCC Allocation Process

Doug Vernier to explain the bolts and nuts of the allocation procedures

The Society of Broadcast Engineers will conduct a webinar, “The Nuts and Bolts of the FCC FM Allocation Procedures,” on Feb. 16, 2–3:30 p.m.

Hosted by V-Soft Communications President Doug Vernier, the webinar explains the “history and technology behind the FCC’s current FM allocation rules and procedures for noncommercial FM stations, FM translators, LPFM and full-service commercial stations,” according to a release.

The release adds that the webinar also will provide “insight into how a station can improve its coverage or move its city of license using the rules and the role of directional antennas, which provide protection in certain directions allowing more power to be transmitted in other areas.”

The cost is $49 for SBE members and $69 for non-members. Participants will be given a link to the archived webinar for referral.
